TX Wei Sheng: Malaysia Influential Educator 2023

In 2022, TX didn’t exist yet — not by that name.

Traderpreneur Xcellence was just rebranded in March of that year. New name, new identity, new chapter for a company that had been building since 2021. And in its very first year as TX, it received its first national recognition: Malaysia Influential Educator.

TX Wei Sheng: Malaysia Influential Educator 2023

What Wei Sheng built was real.

The Story Behind the Recognition

To understand why these awards matter, you have to understand what TX is being recognised for.

Financial education in Malaysia has a reputation problem. The industry is crowded with signal groups, get-rich-quick promises, and educators whose only credential is a screenshot. Most students who’ve been burned once — and there are many — approach any new trading educator with justifiable suspicion.

Wei Sheng built TX as the answer to that suspicion. Not the answer that says it’s different, but the answer that proves it is — through curriculum rigour, founder transparency, and a refusal to promise outcomes he couldn’t guarantee.

By 2022, that approach had built something real: a community of students who were learning to trade with discipline, not luck. A content library that had shaped how tens of thousands of Malaysians thought about markets. And a teaching philosophy — 慢就是快 (slow is fast) — that ran directly against the grain of everything the industry typically sells.

The Malaysia Influential Educators recognition in 2023 was the first time a national body put its name next to TX’s.

It would not be the last.

The Journey — The Story That Made the Award Make Sense

The Malaysia Influential Educators award doesn’t go to people who launched a trading course last year. It goes to educators whose story, over time, has shaped people in a way that matters.

Wei Sheng’s story qualifies. And because every award in this series eventually traces back to it, it deserves to be told properly here.

Pahang. A timber factory. A father who didn’t come home.

Wei Sheng grew up in a modest household in Pahang. His father worked at a timber factory and was the family’s sole breadwinner — until a tragic car accident took his life during Wei Sheng’s final year of secondary school. The sudden loss plunged the family into financial hardship. There was no safety net. Growing up happened fast.

A life-changing student exchange programme in the United States opened a window onto a bigger world — and with it, a hunger for growth, for freedom, for a future built on more than survival.

Back in Malaysia, he pursued Environmental Engineering at the University of Malaya. At 22, he made his first trade on Bursa Malaysia — a 60% profit. And then, through overconfidence and emotional trading, lost his entire scholarship fund. It was his first hard lesson: the market rewards discipline, not emotion.

The RM400,000 fall.

What followed wasn’t a clean recovery story. At 25 (2015), Wei Sheng made RM400,000 in three months — on a sound strategy. Then, within six months, he had lost it all and fallen RM400,000 into debt.

The cause was not the strategy. It was psychology. He abandoned his own system to follow others’ insider tips. When the trades turned against him, he revenge-traded — the oldest and most expensive mistake in trading.

The debt took years to clear. During that period he worked simultaneously as an insurance manager, a trust manager, and a forex trader, studying and refining his trading approach while servicing what he owed. He stopped trading Malaysian stocks and moved into indices, then cryptocurrency.

In 2017, during the cryptocurrency boom, he made RM600,000 — enough to clear the debt and, for the first time in years, breathe again.

“That moment wasn’t just financial freedom. It was the turning point where pain became the purpose.”

The realisation that built TX.

What shifted things wasn’t a mentor or a lucky trade. It was an honest reckoning with why he had blown up in the first place.

The conclusion was uncomfortable and clarifying: the profit had come from a sound strategy. The loss had come from psychology — trusting others’ news over his own system, then revenge trading when it went wrong. The strategy was never the problem. The behaviour was.

That single realisation became the spine of TX. Psychology and risk management are not add-ons to a strategy — they are what decides whether any strategy survives contact with a real account. It is why, from day one, TX’s curriculum leads with mindset and risk management, not signals or setups.

The Malaysia Influential Educator recognition arrived that same year.

The Moment — 2023: National Consumer Protection, University of Malaya

TX Wei Sheng: Malaysia Influential Educator 2023

In 2023, the Malaysia Influential Educator recognition came — this time from MTPN (Majlis Tindakan Pengguna Negara), Malaysia’s National Consumer Advisory Council.

MTPN is not a trading industry body. It is a government-linked institution established to protect and educate the public as consumers. When MTPN recognised Wei Sheng under the MIE 4.0 programme, it was a national-level consumer protection body saying: this educator meets the standard that protects the public.

That distinction matters enormously in financial education — an industry that, in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia, has been repeatedly scarred by unregulated operators, false promises, and educators with no accountability for what their students actually achieve.

Of 127 applicants nationwide, 102 educators were selected. Wei Sheng was among them.

The ceremony was held at Tunku Chancellor Hall, University of Malaya — where Wei Sheng himself had once studied Environmental Engineering. The same walls that had witnessed one of his earliest market failures now witnessed national recognition for what those failures had built.

“Stay true to your original aspiration, and you will succeed in the end.”

That quote sits on TX’s official profile. At the Tunku Chancellor Hall on the night of the MTPN ceremony, it stopped being a tagline and became a testimony.

What It Means — For Every Student Who Does Due Diligence

When someone is considering a financial education programme — spending real money, real time, real trust — they research. They Google the educator. They look for every signal that answers the question: Is this person real? Is this institution safe?

The Malaysia Influential Educators recognition in 2022 and the MTPN recognition in 2023 are two of the most important answers to that question that TX has.

Not because they are the loudest signals — they’re not. But because of what they represent: formal assessments, from external institutions with their own credibility at stake, that Wei Sheng’s work meets a standard worth endorsing.

The 2023 MTPN recognition said something more specific: this educator is doing what education is supposed to do — protecting people.

TX is building something that hasn’t existed before in Malaysia’s trading education space — a community where financial literacy is treated as a right, not a luxury, and where the standard of teaching is held to account by people who are paid to protect you.

The recognition came because the teaching works. If you’re ready to find out why, the doors to TX are open.
